Due to the precarious location of the hiker, it is safer to conduct a capture (the rescuer is lowered and safely attaches the hiker) versus a standard hoist operation. Air Ops will then transport the patient to a helispot to meet ground based firefighters so they can assist the hiker in returning to his transport. 9-1-1 call received at 10:17AM. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1252; 05:26PM; 11661 W Texas Av; https://bit.ly/3LNgHfk; Sawtelle; KNOCKDOWN: 52 firefighters extinguished the fire in 17 minutes with no injuries reported. The fire extended from one unit to a tree next to the building and exposed a 2nd structure. Firefighters quickly knocked down the tree fire and prevented it from extending to the building. Crews are now conducting overhaul operations. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1179; 04:48PM; 1432 N Detroit St; https://bit.ly/3YerOFH; #Hollywood; Firefighters found flames inside of a one-story home. Crews deployed hose lines and ascended ladders to ventilate the roof. The coordinated effort of 42 firefighters on scene resulted in the flames being extinguished in 21 minutes. No reported injuries.
