KNOCKDOWN Brush Fire; INC#0982; 02:20PM; 2530 E Cahuenga Bl; https://bit.ly/4ew5vjy; #HollywoodHills; Firefighters found a hillside behind a home burning and quickly deployed hose lines around both flanks of the fire. It took 36 firefighters to extinguish the flames in 28 minutes, keeping the fire from affecting structures on a nearby residential property. One wooden fence sustained minor damage. The total size of the burned area is between approximately 1/8 to 1/4 of an acre. No reported injuries. One hiker was experiencing heat-related illness symptoms, but declined hospital transport after being evaluated by paramedics. LAFD Air Operations hoisted the two hikers into the rescue helicopter and brought them to a nearby landing zone to get them safely back to their vehicle. Complete - Trench Rescue; INC#0750; 04:54PM; 2333 N Catalina St; https://bit.ly/4dRkZPp; #LosFeliz; After nearly six hours of a relentless rescue effort in oppressive heat by dozens of Los Angeles Fire Department responders working seamlessly in non-stop rotation, the adult male construction worker has been skillfully removed from the unstable 8 (eight) foot deep trench at a residential construction site. In serious condition, he is soon to be transported by LAFD Paramedics to a regional trauma center. Two LAFD rescuers were treated at the scene for heat exhaustion, with one later taken to an area hospital for further medical evaluation. No other injuries reported.
