SoCal Gas secured the gas leak and work is continuing to ensure the area is safe. Duration of evacuation is undetermined at this time. Update Hazmat; 05:50PM; 2013 S Walgrove Av; internal:/; Venice; The gas company successfully pinched off the gas line with the leak. However, the valve needs to be shut which requires additional digging to reach the shut off. Shutting this valve will subsequently shut off gas to approximately 60 homes in the immediate area. Walgrove Ave from Victoria to Vienna Way. Also on Glencove from Victoria to Vienna. For questions regarding your gas service, please contact the SoCal Gas direct. There remain no injuries reported. LAPD conducted precautionary evacuations of approx 50 homes near the incident. No injuries reported. Investigation of suspicious (unknown) cylinders at back of home continues.
