The Department of Sanitation is on scene and will be deploying a floating camera which is able to extend the investigation further into the pipe to confirm no rescue needed. Report is of a person in sewer (under manhole cover) in the Culver loop requiring rescue. Firefighters on scene do NOT currently detect a victim but Urban Search and Rescue units enroute to provide additional equipment (cameras) to further the investigation and ensure no one is in need of rescue. After an extensive search, firefighters located the woman who was now out of the water and firmly resisting any LAFD help. Crews investigated the area to ensure all those remaining in the river bottom (encampments) are moving to higher ground out of precaution. The water does not currently appear to be rising and the rain has stopped. No rescues required.
