Ground crews - including three LACoFD hand crews, will remain at the scene this morning to extinguish minimal flame on the flanks of the fire and overhaul smoldering vegetation to assure complete extinguishment. No injury. No structure threat or damage. No evacuation. The incident commander will be releasing the air resources while the ground firefighters continue to conduct mop-op operations. The overhaul of this area will likely be an extended duration operation due to the mix of un-burned/partially burned and burned (referred to as a 'dirty burn') fuel within the containment zone. No additional resources are anticipated. No structures damaged and on injuries reported. LACoFD and Beverly Hills FD have resources on the incident. Firefighters continue to make progress against the fire and are close to getting hand lines in place around the entirety of the burn area. LACoFD Air Ops assisted with water drops and are now released. Additional ground crews from both LACoFD and Beverly Hills FD remain on scene. A downed power line was identified as a safety hazard and communicated to all on scene. There is no wind and this is a terrain driven fire. Access is difficult due to the terrain and heavy brush, therefore the primary attack is currently via water drops while ground crews make their way in to lay hose lines.
