Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0878; 03:49PM; 1514 N Labaig Av; https://bit.ly/3gsdRei; Hollywood; A Greater Alarm assignment totaling 49 firefighters battled flames in a vacant (and boarded up) two-story duplex, well-involved with fire on the first and second floors. Firefighters engaged in a transitional attack (upward through the windows from the exterior to cut through the intense heat inside), before entering into an offensive mode to finish off the remaining fire inside in 36 minutes with a coordinated interior fire attack with vertical ventilation. There are no reported injuries. It took 30 firefighters just 10 minutes to put out the fire, starting with a defensive strategy (from the exterior), and knocking back the flames enough to enter and extinguish the remainder. This was the site of a previous burn. Firefighters skillfully protected all adjacent structures. No reported injuries.
