Update KNOCKDOWN (NOW FIRE OUT) Structure Fire; INC#0841; 01:50PM; 834 N Martel Av; https://bit.ly/3QIGFmE; Fairfax; 32 LAFD firefighters responded to reports of a one unit of a row of bungalow dwellings with smoke showing. During offensive firefighting mode firefighters found one male patient in respiratory arrest. Firefighters were able to extinguish contents fire and prevent extension to adjoining units in 16 minutes. The one male patient was transported by paramedics to local trauma center in critical condition. No other injuries have been reported. KNOCKDOWN Truck Fire; INC#0400; 09:23AM; 2000 S Granville Av; https://bit.ly/41wYTxF; #Sawtelle; Several fire companies were added to this incident, for a total of approximately 42 firefighters on scene. 4 compressed natural gas tanks located on top of the sanitation truck were monitored while they discharged completely. Fire companies remained in defensive posture until tanks were empty, then proceeded to fully extinguish fire in the body and cab of the truck. Knockdown was achieved in 90 minutes; companies will remain on scene for approximately one hour for overhaul. No injuries. Truck Fire; INC#0400; 07:53AM; 2000 S Granville Av; https://bit.ly/41wYTxF; #Sawtelle; Firefighters arrived on scene to find a city sanitation truck in a city yard, fully involved with fire. Compressed natural gas cylinders were identified on top of truck, with at least one PRD (pressure relieving device) activated and releasing gas. Fire located in one room and attic. 42 firefighters on scene coordinated roof and interior operations, fully extinguishing all flames in 16 minutes. Traffic; INC#0368; 06:25AM; 12606 W Culver Bl; https://bit.ly/4iexne5; Del Rey; LAFD responded to a traffic accident involving a an RV. As a result of the collision, 10 gallons of diesel fuel has flowed onto the street. LAFD has contained the leak and is requesting additional clean up assistance from co-operating LA City agencies. DOT is on scene directing traffic on Culver Blvd, which is closed in both directions from Braddock to mid-block at Culver Blvd for an unknown duration. No injuries to LAFD personnel or civilians reported. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0141; 02:52AM; 619 N Kingsley Dr; https://bit.ly/3QIDWKh; #EastHollywood; Firefighters are on scene of several vehicles on fire on the ground-floor parking level of a three-story apartment building. Two patients (29 year-old female and 10 year-old male) are being transported to the hospital, after being evaluated by paramedics. Both residential (upper) floors of the building were evacuated due to heavy smoke coming from the parking level. It took approximately 50 firefighters 39 minutes to extinguish the flames.
