Fortunately, there are no reported injuries to those on the ground and the pilot is being assessed, currently has no complaints of injury. Update Structure Fire; 10:38AM; 5910 N Murietta Av; internal:/; Van Nuys; Cause = unattended cigarette. 3 people evaluated for smoke inhalation and declined transportation to the hospital. The 2 smoke alarms in the apartment were not functioning. Task Force 39 provided occupants with 2 new, functioning smoke alarms. FF were able to limit fire to contents in back bedroom and occupants will not be displaced, able to return and live in unit. FF rescued and provided oxygen to one cat which fully recovered.
