Update Flooding 01/20/2017

Update Flooding; 02:08PM; 15260 W Burbank Bl; internal:/; Sherman Oaks; LAFD firefighters and Swift Water team have now effected the rescue of a total of 4 people from the Sepulveda Basin. The individuals were in an homeless encampment which flooded and required assistance getting to safety. 1 patient was transported with for medical issue not related to the flooding. LAFD Air Ops is enroute to fly a recon route along the basin to determine if any additional persons needing rescue. The Sepulveda Basin is closed. The first 2 rescues were a part of Incident # 708 and the follow up rescues were part of Inc 879. ; FS 88; Batt 10; Valley Bureau; Council District 4; Margaret Stewart

They are not injured and do not require transport to the hospital. Please avoid the intersection and never drive down a flooded street. LAFD swift water crew is preparing for a water crossing to safely reach the motor home and retrieve the occupants.
