Update Civilian Fatality Structure Fire; INC#0502; 11:44AM; 11307 N Hunnewell Av; http://bit.ly/2GLmxvK; Lake View Terrace; During fire attack, LAFD firefighters discovered two adult make siblings (unk if both are residents); one inside the burning home who was determined to be dead (and remains) at the scene, and his brother, found in the rear yard with smoke inhalation and minor burns, after reportedly attempting to battle the intense flames with a garden hose; The injured man was taken to an area hospital in undetermined condition for what are described as non-life threatening injuries; A non-injured pet dog was safely confined in the yard; The cause of the fire remains under active investigation; Media: PIO Erik Scott is now at scene; FS 98; Batt 12; Valley Bureau; Council District 7; - Brian Humphrey

Trapped Vehicle; INC#0063; 01:29AM; 14700 W Bleeker St; http://bit.ly/2V8IYFc; Sylmar; Gold sedan reported to have been traveling at a high rate of speed when colliding with a hydrant and power pole (multiple poles and wires down). Water shooting up into power lines creating possible electrical hazard. 2 patients extricated by LAFD, transported to trauma center in critical condition (18yoF and 20yoF). Reports of at least 2 more patients who have not been located. A search group is being deployed to locate possible other patients. DWP now on scene assisting. Hydrant will be addressed after confirmation that power will not cycle back on. Blower used to draw smoke out to aid in locating the source of the smoke. Smoldering contents in one unit were found to be the source of the smoke the fire threat has been neutralized. 30 FF gained a knockdown in 14 minutes. Cause/loss TBD.
