Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1017; 03:50PM; 22100 W Victory Bl; http://bit.ly/390Pa4N; Woodland Hills; LAFD quickly navigated the large apartment complex to locate fire in just one 3rd-floor unit kitchen, where hose lines were pulled up with "drop bag" ropes to access the above-ground location. 35 firefighters extinguished the flames in 23 minutes, confining the damage to the kitchen only. Vertical ventilation crews used restraint and did not cause any damage to the roof, when hearing of the nature of the fire below. There is residual smoke in the unit and in the 3rd floor hallway, which will be removed systematically with LAFD blowers. Minimal overhaul needed. No reported injuries.
