Thanks to precise LAFD helicopter water drops well-coordinated with ground crews, the home(s) earlier in peril are not currently threatened. The other patient in critical condition, has been transported to an area Trauma Center. Unknown age/gender/affiliation/circumstances. One or more lanes of Balboa Boulevard are expected to remain closed until LAPD and Coroner operations are complete, unknown duration. Motorists, expect congestion and delay, avoid the immediate area and consider an alternate route. Detours are readily available. The 29yo male suffered critical burns and was rapidly transported to the hospital in unknown condition (at least critical, possibly grave). CAL OSHA notified due to a work-place injury per protocol.
