Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1582; 12:23AM; 13422 W Ventura Bl; https://bit.ly/3pSQika; Sherman Oaks; The first 35 LAFD firefighters extinguished the flames in a one-story commercial building in 24 minutes, skillfully protecting all nearby buildings. Firefighters performed a coordinated interior attack with vertical ventilation. Primary and secondary searches were clear (no patients found). Knockdown Rubbish Fire; INC#1215; 07:36PM; 19350 W Nordhoff St; https://bit.ly/3kQcCXT; Northridge; 38 LAFD Firefighters took just 18 minutes to fully extinguish a large rubbish fire near a homeless encampment between railroad tracks and a flood control channel. No injury. The nearby electronics retail store was not damaged. Any and all Metrolink Ventura County Line and Amtrak Pacific Surfliner rail traffic on that route is prohibited between the Tampa Ave and Corbin Ave grade crossings until LAFD mop-up and equipment retrieval is complete. No injury.
