The deceased occupant of the rollover vehicle is a male, estimated to be 40-50 yo. The incident was determined to be within the Angeles National Forest boundaries, therefore LA County Sheriff will handle the investigation. LAFD is conducted the body recovery operation and will perform a hoist operation to relocate the body to a nearby helispot and transfer custody to the LA County Coroner office. Any further media questions are referred to LA County Coroner and LA County Sheriff. Rollover Vehicle - FATALITY; INC#0852; 03:10PM; 11160 N Oro Vista Av; https://bit.ly/35D5dcD; Sunland; Firefighters hiked down a hillside to locate a rollover vehicle and found one patient, determined dead on scene. Crews are now scouring the hillside to determine if there were any other occupants. LAFD Air Ops is responding to assist with the visual search. LAPD responding for the investigation. LAFD will transition to a body recovery once the search for additional patients is concluded. There was an additional vehicle that was not as far down the hillside which was from a previous incident 5 weeks ago and not part of this response.
