Knockdown - Brush Fire; INC#0973; 02:30PM; 11600 W Kagel Canyon St; https://bit.ly/3MHWJRp; #LakeViewTerrace; Assisted by precise and timely water drops from a pair of LAFD helicopters, 50 LAFD ground responders, with swift Automatic Aid from Los Angeles County Fire Department and Angeles National Forest firefighters, held the fire to approximately two (2) acres of light grass and medium brush adjacent to the Foothill (I-210) Freeway. No injury. No structure damage. Minor lane closure on nearby surface streets only. No lane closure on freeway. The patient is currently talking with firefighters and the extent of his injuries is unknown at this time. LAFD Air Operations is preparing to conduct a hoist operation to transport him to the hospital. The 9-1-1 call was received at 5:30PM. Twenty-eight firefighters extinguished the flames in 13 minutes (8:25am), holding the fire to just the first involved structure. No injury. Though there was a reported behavioral emergency with alleged fire setting by a person ostensibly associated with the residence prior to the first 9-1-1 call, the specific cause of the fire and circumstances prior to Firefighter's arrival remain under active investigation. That person of interest is currently being interviewed at scene by LAPD (West Valley, Incident #2982).
