The structure is a one story, vacant restaurant . The bulk of the fire was towards the rear (unknown name of occupancy). The exposed buildings to the north (Charlie side) and East (Bravo) of the building were defended from any extension. The cause and $ loss TBD. Update Plane Down - FATALITY; INC#0722; 01:14PM; Wb 210 Fy x Hubbard St; https://bit.ly/3B9e1Sv; Sylmar; After a thorough search of all void spaces in the aircraft, firefighters did not locate any other victims. One person determined dead in the aircraft (age/gender unknown at this time). The small fuel leak was quickly contained by the first arriving fire companies. There was no fire resulting from the crash. The NTSB is responding and will be the agency for any questions regarding the aircraft and the circumstances leading to the crash. LAFD PIO Firefighter Shawn Lenske is responding for media availability (fire related involvement only). Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0785; 12:38PM; 7081 N Deveron Ridge Rd; https://bit.ly/3KWTR31; #WestHills; 32 LAFD Firefighters took just 24 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish flames (1:02 PM), primarily within the converted garage area of a one story home. One adult male occupant (undetermined condition or site affiliation) will be transported to an area hospital for unspecified illness or injury. Firefighters rescued one pet dog from the residence, who is being medically evaluated at scene by LAFD personnel pending the arrival of Animal Services. No other injuries reported. Their efforts prevented flames from extending to any nearby structure. All occupants are reported to have safely evacuated the structure. No injuries are reported.
