KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0278; 08:45AM; 6261 N Laurel Canyon Bl; https://bit.ly/3m1G0hq; #NorthHollywood; Over 100 LAFD firefighters battled the blaze at an abandoned restaurant in defensive mode for two hours and five minutes. The building sustained heavy damage during an extended period of fire that weakened the structural integrity, causing a substantial collapse. Approximately eight other small fires in the same area (within the span of approximately an hour) are being investigated alongside this one by LAFD Arson Investigators, however there is currently no evidence connecting these fires. It is still early in the investigation, and Fire Investigators are working closely with LAPD to gather evidence and track all leads. One person of interest has been detained for questioning. Knockdown - Fire; INC#0915; 03:19PM; 14608 W Titus St; https://bit.ly/3TKiDHy; #PanoramaCity; It took 54 LAFD Firefighters just 43 minutes to access and confine flames to a large mulch pile (90' long x 45' wide x 20' high), as well as fully extinguish three parked (and empty) 'open top' mulch trailers that were ablaze on LAFD arrival. Firefighters prevented the half-dozen other vehicles and one commercial building from direct harm by flames. No injury. LAFD personnel will remain at scene this evening using tractors and other heavy equipment to assist in the full extinguishment of the smoldering debris. #LATraffic: Full closure of Titus Street between Van Nuys Boulevard and Cedros Avenue will continue until LAFD operations are complete, unknown duration. Despite the efforts of LAFD responders, that teenager sadly proved beyond medical help and he was determined deceased at the scene. No other entrapment. Nine patients have been transported to regional trauma centers (6 patients in Critical Condition and 3 in Fair Condition). No further details. #LATraffic: Full closure of Reseda Blvd in both directions between San Fernando Mission Boulevard and Chatsworth Street will remain in effect until LAPD on-site investigation and scene clean-up are complete, unknown duration.
