KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0662; 12:17PM; 7727 N Lankershim Bl; https://bit.ly/40gnELB; Sun Valley; KNOCKDOWN: Over 80 firefighters extinguished the fire in 33 minutes. The flames were out the 2nd floor window and lapping up to the 3rd floor upon LAFD arrival. Firefighters conducted an interior attack on both floors and primarily held the blaze to the unit of origin. The extent of damage to the unit above is being determined. Two patients were transported with serious burn injuries. A thorough search of the involved units and the rest of the floors impacted by the smoke is underway to determine if any other occupants require medical attention. Per protocol for burn injuries, LAFD Arson section is responding for the investigation. LAFD PIOs are enroute for media availability. Structure Fire; INC#1403; 06:48PM; 9105 N De Garmo Av; https://bit.ly/3ncCEvv; Sun Valley; One story (50' x 50') commercial building with an electrical panel visibly arcing (high voltage). The arcing ignited trash on the floor of the room which firefighters carefully extinguished, ensuring they did not apply water to any electrical components. LA DWP is enroute to safely de-energize the building so firefighters can then make entry and fully extinguish any remaining fire. There is currently no extension to the structure itself and no other structures are threatened. No injuries reported. Update Structure Fire; INC#0260; 06:52AM; 11455 W Cumpston St; https://bit.ly/42rUn25; North Hollywood; Building type update: The original fire unit (appears to be) an apartment building which was in the framing stags and fully involved in fire upon LAFD arrival. The Alpha side (to the front) exposure was also under construction (appears to be apartments) and sustained some fire damage. The exposures surrounding the fire building (on the Brave, Charlie and Delta sides) were defended from any damage and all occupants (numbers unknown) are being rehoused with no injuries reported. The cause is under investigation. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0260; 06:30AM; 11455 W Cumpston St; https://bit.ly/42rUn25; North Hollywood; KNOCKDOWN: 100 firefighters extinguished the fire in 47 minutes with no injuries reported. The three story building was in the framing stages of construction and was well involved in fire upon LAFD arrival. Firefighters successfully defended the surrounding buildings from an extension, preventing the displacement of those occupants. LAFD apparatus will remain on scene through the morning conducting overhaul and ensuring all hot spots are extinguished. Commuters are advised to avoid Cumpston St between Camellia Ave and Tujunga Ave. Cause and $ loss TBD. Sadly, despite paramedics' best efforts to revive her, one woman (approximately 75 years old) was beyond medical help and declared dead at the scene.
