No vehicle extrication was required; however, one patient (31F, fair condition) initially inside the structure is being transported by LAFD paramedics to a local hospital. Forward Progress Stopped - Brush Fire; INC#0273; 05:33AM; SB 5 Fwy south of Roxford Street; https://bit.ly/4lMKBA5; #MissionHills; LAFD crews have stopped forward progress of the brush fire at yet to be determined acreage. The Big Rig driver was able to safety separate the tractor + cargo trailer and is uninjured. The vehicle fire is extinguished. No injury. LAFD crews will remain at scene through daybreak to fully extinguish hotspots and create a bare earth perimeter of the burned area. Fire cause under investigation. The vegetation fire has yet to be contained. The driver escaped without injury. Flames were prevented from damaging a detached two-car garage or nearby homes. No injury. Firefighters will remain on scene for an extended period of time to manage hot spots and establish a full bare-soil perimeter around the burned area. Cooling apparatus have been requested for firefighter rehabilitation. Traffic will be impacted, and motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes. First-arriving companies quickly attacked the fire and rescued the victim. Paramedics assessed the patient (27F), who has refused hospital transport. Knockdown officially declared in 25 minutes from the time of the initial 911 call with 37 firefighters on scene. LADWP, gas company, and LADBS requested for utility management and structural safety assessment.
