The restaurant (wine bar) is in a row of commercial units (50' x 75') and the fire was contained, preventing it from extending beyond the original unit. One adult male patient was transported with multiple bee stings (condition unknown). One adult male (believed to be LAPD volunteer officer or community patrol volunteer) was transported after sustaining an injury while moving away from the bee swarm. Firefighters are informing residents in the area to remain indoors and close all windows/doors. A professional bee removal vendor is required to address the bee swarm. Reported to be 'on its side, stuck in a narrow wedge'. Crews are getting shovels to attempt to dig out while LAFD Air Ops readies a back up plan. This is a dynamic situation with a number of options being assessed to determine the best approach. The LA Animal Services 'Specialized Mobile Animal Rescue Team (SMART) has been notified for assistance.
