The odor has dissipated and all readings are normal. The previously-smelled substance was not able to be identified, but is no longer a hazard. All readings were within normal limits. The building has been deemed safe to inhabit, and all evacuees are able to re-enter the building. A total of two adult patients were transported with medical complaints (unknown if they were connected to the odor). LAFD Hazardous Materials specialists are responding to investigate the source of the odor. Approximately 100 people have been evacuated from the building, and only four of those have been identified with complaints. Paramedics are assessing the four patients, and currently only one hospital transport has been ordered. No widespread or escalating hazard. FORWARD PROGRESS STOPPED Brush Fire; INC#1011; 03:18PM; Eb 118 Fy; https://bit.ly/3rLksLN; Granada Hills; All Forward Progress Stopped: Approximately 1/4 acre of grass was burning on the south side of the 118 FY x Balboa. That fire jumped the freeway and was at 3/4 acre on the north side, threatening structures. Firefighters extinguished all fire with no structures damaged and no injuries reported. Crews are remaining on scene to conduct mop up operations to ensure no hot spots remain. Evening commute will likely be affected and drivers are advised to check for alternate routes and CHP for closure updates. The size up was 50' x 200' and there is no update. Balboa at the 118 FY is shut down and commuters are advised to seek alternate routes. LAFD apparatus are operating off the shoulder of the freeway.
