No injury. Though there is electrical arcing and small flames involving debris near the currently energized scaffolding, the now vacant (all workers safety self-evacuated) building is not involved with fire. LADWP en route (unknown ETA). #LATraffic: Full closure of Reseda Boulevard between Rayen Street and Nordhoff Street until LADWP crews have secured the power line, and rendered the site and vicinity safe for travel. Unknown ETO. Motorists, expect congestion and delay, avoid the immediate area and consider an alternate route. Detours are readily available. Monitor traffic reports on news radio. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire 01/29/2024 INC#1307

KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1307; 05:02PM; 15639 W La Mesa St; #Sylmar; Firefighters responded to a one-story single-family home with fire in a front room of the house. Firefighters concurrently (1) deployed hose lines to engage in an interior fire attack, and (2) ascended ladders to the roof to provide the structure with ventilation (allowing the heat and smoke a place to escape). Ultimately, it took 36 firefighters 16 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries. Civilian Fatality Structure Fire 01/24/2024 INC#0143

Civilian Fatality Structure Fire; INC#0143; 03:02AM; 10803 N Noble Av; https://bit.ly/3Hsn1XE; #MissionHills; 32 LAFD Firefighters took just 22 minutes (3:24 AM) to access, confine and extinguish heavy fire within an 1,856 square foot one-story home, that had been converted to a residential duplex (Primary and ADU under one roof). In extinguishing the intense flames, firefighters discovered the remains of one adult male. The three other occupants of the building were able to escape unharmed. No other injuries reported. Fire cause under active investigation. The 72 year-old structure was not equipped with smoke alarms as required by law. They will both be transported by LAFD ambulance to an area hospital for further evaluation. No other persons are ill or injured. No escalating or off-site hazard has been identified. Traffic Collision 01/21/2024 INC#0958

Traffic Collision; INC#0958; 03:02PM; 17350 W Westbury Dr; https://bit.ly/3Ss7LjR; #GranadaHills; Solo vehicle into the garage area of a 2,526 square foot one-story home, causing significant structural damage. No entrapment. Two adult females from the vehicle sustained minor injury, and are being taken to an area hospital by LAFD ambulance in good condition. No other injuries reported. An LAFD Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) crew is en route to assess, and as necessary stabilize the structure pending the arrival of an Inspector from the Department of Building & Safety (unknown ETA). An electrical issue appeared to have melted some items and caused smoke to fill a portion of the building. It took 34 firefighters 24 minutes to access and contain the threat.
