KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0658; 11:22AM; 7720 N Coldwater Canyon Av; https://bit.ly/3PdJcoB; #SunValley; Firefighters arrived to find a single-story house with heavy fire showing, and reports of people trapped inside. Crews quickly made access, advanced hose lines, and performed a search of the burning home. Firefighters rescued two people who were trapped inside. One adult male was transported in critical condition and one adult female, thankfully, only had minor injuries. Firefighters also rescued three pets from the house fire. Two canines are doing well, but one feline is in critical condition. Crews are attempting to provide life supporting measures, while Animal Services responds. Ultimately, it took 41 firefighters 21 minutes to access, confine and extinguish the flames, including rescuing the human and animal occupants of the home. No firefighter injuries. Crews made entry, advancing hose lines, and found fire on the lower floor (floor Sub-1). The first 34 firefighters extinguished the flames in 23 minutes. Sadly, one person was found dead at the scene. Paramedics provided assessment, care, and hospital transport for one other person with symptoms of smoke inhalation. LAPD Inc #2383. Cause under investigation.
