Crews began in offensive mode, and eventually withdrew into defensive mode, due to the heavy fire load. It took 68 firefighters 35 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames. No reported injuries. KNOCKDOWN Outside Fire; INC#1480; 06:04PM; 19300 W Nordhoff St; https://bit.ly/486uSpa; #Northridge; Firefighters found a large homeless encampment on fire, with flames spreading to a quarter acre of grass and trees, and threatening a commercial building. Thirty-four firefighters deployed hose lines, held the flames to a quarter acre, and protected the nearby commercial building, extinguishing the flames in 25 minutes. No reported injuries. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1460; 05:42PM; 10900 N Key West Av; https://bit.ly/3R8zUKM; #PorterRanch; Firefighters responded to the one-story home fire, where they held the majority of the fire to the attached garage, although smoke filled the home. Two elderly residents (a male and a female) were transported to a local hospital in fair condition due to smoke inhalation. Ultimately, it took 33 firefighters 25 minutes to extinguish the flames. Update Greater Alarm Structure Fire 12/03/2023 INC#0300

Update Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0300; 01:05PM; 13755 N Glenoaks Bl; https://bit.ly/413JOly; #Sylmar; As Firefighters continue to systematically search the three unstable structures on the 1.6 acre parcel that were heavily damaged by fire, they have discovered an adult female deceased on the premises, bringing the current death total to two adult civilians. The earlier discovered decedent's age and gender have yet to be confirmed. An LAFD Human Remains Detection Canine has completed its search of the scene, and no additional civilian or responder injuries have been reported. LAFD and LAPD personnel continue to work in close coordination under a Unified Command as Los Angeles Fire Department Investigators seek the specific cause of the fire.
