Update SANDY FIRE UPDATE Brush Fire, Outside City; INC#0725; 12:21PM; 605 Sandy Av; https://bit.ly/4dxHCcu; Chatsworth; Smoke from the Sandy Fire will become visible again in the San Fernando Valley as a large area of unburned vegetation within the fire perimeter continues to burn. LAFD is moving additional resources to the Bell Canyon area. Residents should expect increased smoke this evening. If you are sensitive to smoke or have respiratory conditions, stay indoors and keep windows closed. The extended fight required relief by fresh companies, ultimately involving approximately 80 personnel working on scene before a complete knockdown was declared in 55 minutes. No occupants or injuries reported. Extended overhaul of approximately two hours anticipated -- through traffic will be impacted.
