Tree Rescue; INC#0949; 02:13PM; 2325 N Mt Olympus Dr; https://bit.ly/45y5cn5; Hollywood Hills West; Originally called in as a non-specific Engine response, firefighters located an approximately 30yo male patient stuck in a tree canopy, about 20' above ground, in medical distress. The incident was upgraded and LAFD Urban Search and Rescue trained firefighters conducted a rescue operation, safely extricating the patient from the trees using a rope system and the aerial ladder. The patient was transported in serious condition. Crews contained the fire to the building of origin (appears to be vacant) and adjacent vegetation. The additional exposed homes were defended from damage. Unstable Billboard; INC#0663; 12:19PM; 6300 N Laurel Canyon Bl; https://bit.ly/4joHWv5; North Hollywood; A billboard, atop a building previously burned building, is unstable and requires removal. LAFD have cordoned off the area and have one southbound lane of N Laurel Canyon Blvd closed. LAFD Heavy Equipment is enroute to assist the Urban Search and Rescue Task Force in safely bringing down the billboard. Once the equipment is on scene (estimated in one hour), ALL Southbound lanes will be closed. When the operation begins, BOTH sides of Laurel Canyon Blvd will be closed for (estimated) 30 mins. The Northbound lanes will be reopened while firefighters conduct the cleanup operation. Once complete, all lanes will be reopened.
