Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0001; 12:35AM; 3778 N Berry Dr; https://bit.ly/3qIO4US; Studio City; 34 LAFD firefighters extinguished fire in the attic, walls, and floor of a descending hillside home in 32 minutes. Companies inside protected belongings prior to applying water, while firefighters on the roof cut ventilation holes, but left the roofing in place until water was ready to be applied (then pulled the previously cut roofing, opening the hole). The coordinated effort minimized damage from water, fire, and smoke. There were no reported injuries. The 26 LAFD firefighters on scene coordinated an aggressive interior fire attack and vertical rooftop ventilation to swiftly eliminate the flames in 20 minutes, confining the fire to the unit of origin. One adult male patient who sustained burns was cared for by LAFD firefighter-paramedics and transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
