The first arriving 30 LAFD Firefighters took just 18 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish heavy fire within one first floor apartment in the 4,936 square-foot 8 unit garden-style apartment building. Firefighter efforts to search the premises and fully extinguish the fire was hampered by excessive personal storage inside the apartment. No injuries have been reported. The building, constructed in 1958, was not equipped with optional residential fire sprinklers. LAPD Foothill Division (Incident #1907) has taken one person into custody at the scene for yet unconfirmed circumstances. LAFD Investigators are assigned.
