There is no threat to the brush area adjacent to this incident. The 53' trailer was carrying a full load of paper products which is extending the amount of time it will take firefighters to fully extinguish the contents. IC has requested LAFD Heavy Equipment resources to respond and assist with separating the product for complete suppression. CHP is diverting WB 210 freeway traffic at Lowell with re-entry at La Tuna Canyon. No injuries reported. Nothing further. Rapid fire spread required companies to open the structure’s entire facade to ensure all flames were extinguished. Knockdown in 45 minutes with 63 firefighters working on scene. No injuries reported; cause under active investigation. Update KNOCKDOWN Automobile Fire; INC#0524; 09:20AM; 11460 W Foothill Bl; https://bit.ly/3I9koKu; Hansen Dam; Command staff on scene, known as Foothill IC, confirms the bulk of the fire is knocked down. LAFD HazMat Units will continue to monitor air quality as well as water runoff due to the bus being powered by lithium ion batteries. The overhaul procedures at this incident will likely continue for the next 3-4 hours. No children were on the LA Unified School District bus at the time of the fire. The driver (unknown age/gender) was transported to a local hospital for minor smoke inhalation complaints. CHP is closing the WB 210 freeway at Osborne St. for an unknown amount of time. LAPD has closed Foothill Bl in both directions at the 210 freeway underpass. Cause of fire is unknown. No injuries to LAFD personnel reported.
