All occupants swiftly evacuated and remained safely together outside the residence prior to firefighters arrival. No injury reported. There were numerous animals in the home and while 8 cats and 2 dogs were rescued by firefighters (current conditions/prognosis unknown) there were sadly about 10 cats and 2 dogs deceased in the structure (estimated numbers). A total of four occupants lived in the unit but only one was home at the time. Red Cross notified to assist with immediate needs. Cause was determined to be a cooking fire which spread through the manufactured home. It is not immediately known if there were functioning smoke alarms.
