Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire (Grass); INC#1043; 02:38PM; 12970 W Branford St; https://bit.ly/3dE6qo4; Pacoima; KNOCKDOWN: 78 firefighters extinguished the fire in 47 minutes with no injuries reported. Firefighters prevented the vegetation fire from extending to the exposed residences. There is some reported damage (extent unknown at this time) to fencing / patio furniture. Branford St is closed at the 5 Freeway to Laurel Canyon Blvd due to large diameter supply lines on the street and commuters are advised to seek alternate routes (duration unknown at this time). Crews continue to mop up the vegetation fire hot spots. Update Death Investigation Brush Fire; INC#0891; 07:00PM; 11160 N De Soto Av; https://bit.ly/3JXVr4O; #Chatsworth; A more accurate analysis of the burn footprint revealed that held the fire to just under two acres in total (less than initial estimates). While operating in the area during the brush fire incident, crews located some bones that appear to be human remains (unrelated to the fire). No structures were damaged. We want to extend our gratitude to Beverly Hills FD and LA County FD for their mutual aid responses in assisting with the suppression efforts. Crews will remain on scene to fortify containment lines and "mop up" (eliminate hot spots and smoldering debris within the burn perimeter).
