Only one patient is being transported (age/gender unknown) in fair condition. All others declined LAFD transport. There is no evidence of any spills in the water or on the ground. Structure Fire - FATALITY; INC#0012; 01:19AM; 11308 S Main St; https://bit.ly/3NfQqGZ; Broadway-Manchester; FIRE NOW OUT: At 12:17AM, LAFD responded to a reported structure fire and found a one story (60' x 80') metal clad, commercial building with two autos in a carport to the rear, well involved in fire. Firefighters initiated a defensive operation and extinguished the fire in 38 minutes (83 firefighters on scene KD at 12:55AM). While conducting the primary search, they located an adult male inside the building who was sadly beyond medical help. Firefighter/Paramedics determined him deceased on scene. LAPD and LAFD Arson Section are responding for the investigation per protocol for a fatality. LA County Coroner will determine identity and cause of death. The building appeared to be filled with mattresses but it is unclear exactly what type of business was in operation. Natural Gas Leak; INC#1339; 06:21PM; 10250 W Santa Monica Bl; https://bit.ly/3JnhMd0; Century City; LAFD responded to reports of the smell of leaking natural gas inside a retail unit (DBA Nordstroms) which evacuated prior to LAFD arrival. Firefighters are investigating and currently have no atypical readings on the five-gas meter (portable gas detection device provides readings of the atmospheric presence of carbon monoxide, oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen cyanide and methane). There are no persons with any medical complaints. LAFD HazMat squad is responding for a detailed investigation. The fire jumped the freeway and extended into the triangle between the 47S and Harbor Blvd. The fire was held to approximately 1/2 acre with no structures damaged. Residents in the adjacent apartment building (number unknown) are sheltering in place due to the smoke present (no threat to the building). No injuries reported. Crews will remain on scene conducting mop up operations to ensure no hot spots remain. The fire is less than 1 acre but in a challenging to reach area between the 110 and CA47 interchanges at the Vincent Thomas bridge.
