KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0750; 12:39PM; 1209 W 56th St; https://bit.ly/3DgKcC0; Vermont-Slauson; KNOCKDOWN: 30 firefighters extinguished the fire in 25 minutes with no injuries reported. Firefighters conducted vertical ventilation and coordinated hand lines working from above and below the attic while additional units performed salvage operations to protect the belongings in the home. Their actions contained the fire to the attic, preventing it from spreading down into the living space. There were no other structures exposed or damaged. Cause and $ loss TBD. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0447; 09:07AM; 1783 E 45th St; https://bit.ly/3XPYZgw; #CentralAlameda; The first 40 LAFD firefighters to arrive, along with LA County FD companies, extinguished the flames in 19 minutes. An outside fire extended in to a metal-clad building. Thankfully, fire sprinklers limited the ability for the fire to grow. Firefighters will remain on scene to mitigate water damage from the sprinklers and fire hose use, and restore the sprinkler system to be ready to protect the building for a future hazard. No reported injuries.
