Update Explosion 02/15/2024 INC#0317

Update Explosion; INC#0317; 12:15PM; 1120 N Alameda St; https://bit.ly/49FhKIl; #Wilmington; A total of *Nine* LAFD Firefighters were injured during an explosion, while responding to a vehicle fire in Wilmington. Two of the nine remain in critical condition. The clean-air CNG-powered semi truck (no trailer) contained two 100-gallon natural gas tanks, compressed to over 3,000 psi. Six minutes after firefighters arrived, one of the tanks exploded, causing severe injuries. One of the injured firefighters was air-lifted to a burn center for specialty care. Thankfully, the driver was well clear of the truck by the time of the blast, and found to be uninjured. We remind locals to stay clear of the scene, both motorists and pedestrians. There are currently no active evacuation orders, but an "exclusion zone" with a 500-foot radius has been established to isolate the scene and prevent further injury. The situation is currently static. This will be an extended operation in the area, and handled slowly, with extreme caution to ensure there is no possibility of escalating hazard.; FS 38; Batt 6; South Bureau; Council District 15; AO1 AO2 AP65 AR1 AR10 AR11 AR12 AR14 AR21 AR22 AR27 AR33 AR34 AR38 AR7 AR9 BC1 BC13 BC4 BC6 CE43 CM1 CM20 CM22 CM3 CM32 E112 E205 E21 E210 E215 E220 E221 E238 E248 E26 E285 E290 E36 E40 E48 E49 E5 E64 E85 E90 EA1 EM1 EM11 EM13 EM18 EM35 EM4 ER2 ER3 FC1 H1 H3 HA1 HA3 HE1 HL9 HR3 JT1 JT2 JT3 JT4 JT6 PH1 PL1 RA10 RA101 RA112 RA264 RA266 RA36 RA38 RA5 RA57 RA64 RA79 RA848 RA85 RA90 RH114 RS3 SO1 SQ21 SQ48 T10 T15 T20 T21 T38 T48 T5 T85 T90 TL4 TO34 UA1 UA6 UR5 UR88; CH7; 12 13 14; Nicholas Prange
