Crews found fire inside of a converted garage to the rear of a single-family residential property. The first 18 firefighters extinguished the flames in 12 minutes. No reported injuries. Firefighters discovered two cars on fire inside the garage. Hose lines were quickly deployed and extinguishment took place. There was one exposure which was extinguished quickly from units in the alley. 26 Firefighters took 10 minutes to put the fire out. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0337; 07:51AM; 2219 S Orange Dr; https://bit.ly/3UViPaS; #MidCity; Firefighters arrived at a one-story single-family home to find heavy smoke showing from the attic. Crews forced entry into the home, to find their movement impeded by excessive storage inside. Ventilation crews cut holes in the roof and discovered the majority of the fire was in the attic. They advanced hose lines up onto the roof, and extinguish the bulk of the fire from above, through holes they made in the roof. Firefighters performed a primary search of the structure, and did not find any occupants inside. Ultimately, it took 32 firefighters 27 minutes to extinguish the flames. No reported injuries. It took 80 firefighters 37 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames. Crews set up a system of blowers to remove the smoke and reintroduce fresh air into the building. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.
