Update Train vs Bus COMPLETE 04/30/2024 INC#0749

Update COMPLETE Train vs Bus; INC#0749; 02:20PM; 901 W Exposition Bl; https://bit.ly/3y787o1; #ExpositionPark; In close coordination with local hospitals, LAPD, MTA, and USC, firefighters and paramedics evaluated and treated at least 55 people as a result of the train/bus collision. Totals: 2 were transported in serious condition. 16 were transported in fair condition. At least 37 were treated and released on scene. No entrapment. No children or juveniles transported. Unknown occupations/affiliations of patients. Update Train vs Bus; INC#0749; 01:10PM; 901 W Exposition Bl; https://bit.ly/3y787o1; #ExpositionPark; Firefighters are on scene of a collision between a Metro Rail train and a USC Transportation bus, where at least 16 people were injured. Two from the bus (not trapped) were transported in moderate-to-serious condition (unknown total bus occupants at the time of the collision). At least fourteen additional patients from the train were evaluated on scene with minor injuries (total hospital transports will be updated at a later time). Update Civilian Fatality Structure Fire; INC#1273; 07:30PM; 140 E 71st St; https://bit.ly/4bdZdUi; #Florence; *Address Corrected* 40 LAFD Firefighters took just 14 minutes to fully extinguish fire within one room of a one-story single family home. While battling flames, firefighters discovered a *52-year-old male* deceased within his residence. No other injuries were reported. One woman displaced by the fire, desired to seek her own accommodations. There was no evidence of functional smoke alarms in the residence, as required by law. The 101-year-old building was not equipped with optional residential fire sprinklers. A positive identification of the decedent, as well as the specific cause, time and manner of his death, will be determined by the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner. The cause of the fire remains under active investigation by LAFD Investigators. Civilian Fatality Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#1273; 06:18PM; 136 E 71st St; https://bit.ly/3JF290o; #Florence; PRELIM: 40 LAFD Firefighters took just 14 minutes (6:32 PM) to respond, access, confine and fully extinguish fire within one room of a one-story single family home. During the aggressive and well coordinated fire attack, firefighters discovered one person deceased inside the residence. Their age, gender and site affiliation have yet to be determined. No other injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under active investigation. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1245; 06:09PM; 11878 S Main St; https://bit.ly/3W1Jmno; #BroadwayManchester; Firefighters made access to the vacant 50' x 50' one-story building and found fire inside and burning up into the attic. Crews advanced hose lines inside, while others ascended ladders to ventilate the roof. Ultimately, it took 32 firefighters 19 minutes to extinguish the flames. No reported injuries.
