There are no reported injuries. LAFD HazMat squad is assessing the situation to determine what actions are necessary. There is no fire/life hazard at this time and the incident will be handled by TF48, SQ48 and RA36. Update Structure Fire; INC#0857; 04:16PM; 1835 W 48th St; https://bit.ly/2VY58ZI; Vermont Square; KNOCKDOWN: 33 firefighters extinguished the fire in 16 minutes. The fire was well developed within the attic upon LAFD arrival. Fire attack made an interior approach into the attic while roof division cut a ventilation hole. Additional firefighters conducted salvage operations to protect the belongings inside the home. All occupants were out of the structure and no injuries were reported. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0400; 09:24AM; 1728 S Shenandoah St; https://bit.ly/3aViNEZ; Pico-Robertson; It took 41 firefighters 23 minutes to extinguish fire in a one-story home under construction. Due to the compromised nature of the structure (due to incomplete construction), firefighters took a defensive posture to battle the fire from the exterior. Once the flames were pushed back, firefighters entered the structure with hose lines to eliminate the remaining hot spots. There was one civilian injury. Paramedics are on scene evaluating the patient, who is in fair condition.
