Update Structure Fire; INC#0131; 03:45AM; 4057 S Main St; https://bit.ly/2X1vZU3; Historic South-Central; Firefighters made some progress against the fire in the basement from the transitional attack and are working to reach the fire now from an interior attack into the basement. Despite a compromised floor (due to the fire below), firefighters were able to extinguish the bulk of the fire in one unit on the 1st floor (fire is still int the walls) The primary search of the 1st floor is complete and any occupants located were evacuated.Occupants on the 2nd floor are currently sheltering in place as firefighters work their way to each unit to safely evacuate. A transitional attack (water applied from the exterior into through a window while crews continue to work to make access) has made progress against the fire. There appears to be extension into the 1st floor but uncertain if anything more than moderate smoke on the 2nd floor right now (firefighters are on the floor investigating). There are no injuries reported. The fire was prevented from extending to the church. No injuries reported. Clarification on the buildings affected is pending. At least one metal clad building was destroyed by the fire. The bulk of the fire was outside in the pallet yard. Update Structure Fire; INC#1481; 11:23PM; 1755 E 57th St; https://bit.ly/2WA4e4V; Central-Alameda; With 116 firefighters assigned to the incident, this is now a Major Emergency Structure Fire. A large pallet fire has engulfed a metal clad building and threatening at least one residential structure. Firefighters deployed heavy streams and are in a defensive mode. They are making progress but with the dense storage of wood pallets, this fire is burning fiercely and will not be a quick knockdown. Downed power lines are an additional hazard firefighters are working around. No injuries reported. LAFD PIO Captain Weireter is enroute for media availability (approximately 35 min ETA).
