Though the vehicle and one involved unit in a row of bungalow-style homes were significantly damaged, there are no other injuries. Knockdown - Structure Fire; INC#0932; 01:52PM; 233 W 98th St; https://bit.ly/3f4CKh7; #BroadwayManchester; 33 firefighters took just 31 minutes to forcibly enter, overcome physical obstacles within, thoroughly search, confine and fully extinguish flames in an 874 square-foot one-story home (built 1913) that contained excessive personal storage. During initial fire attack, LAFD Firefighters discovered and rescued one elder adult male resident from the smoke charged structure. He has been taken to an area hospital by LAFD Paramedics in critical condition. No other injury reported. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0123; 03:32AM; 3700 S Broadway St; https://bit.ly/3JE0gje; Historic South-Central; KNOCKDOWN: 52 firefighters extinguished the fire in one hour and six mins. The fire was contained to the scrubber system (used to remove harmful materials from industrial exhaust gases before they are released into the environment). It is believed there was a build-up of lint within the system that ignited (similar to a dryer fire). No injuries reported. Crews will remain on scene, ensuring there are no remaining hot spots within the system prior to concluding the incident. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0432; 05:15AM; 4367 W Adams Bl; https://bit.ly/3pJ7GtB; Jefferson Park; KNOCKDOWN: The first assignment of 31 firefighters extinguished the fire in 27 minutes (prior to arrival of the additional resources). Further update on the building appears to be divided into two units with a partition wall separating areas within one unit. Firefighters prevented the fire from extending beyond the original unit (the extent of potential smoke/water damage is unknown at this time). LAPD has one male (age unknown) in custody as a potential arson suspect. Firefighter/paramedics are evaluating him to ensure there are no injuries.
