With the exception of one exposed apartment building entered to ensure fire had not involved a unit, all work has been done defensively from the outside to ensure firefighter safety. Strategic evacuations have been made from several exposed apartment buildings. No injuries reported. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0754; 11:33AM; 2235 N Johnston St; https://bit.ly/3EsTsae; Lincoln Heights; 54 firefighters extinguished the fire in 14 minutes. Firefighters contained the fire to the unit of origin, preventing extension throughout the structure. During investigation mode of operation, firefighters found a small fire in the kitchen of 1st floor unit. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire in 10 minutes preventing extension. Approximately 40yo male beyond medical help, determined deceased on scene. 47yo male, driver, transported in fair condition. 23yo male patient declined LAFD treatment/transport and released on scene.
