Update Structure Fire 01/12/2017

Update Structure Fire; 11:30PM; 4918 E MENDOTA AV; internal:/; A 72 y/o male was rescued from the 1st story of a split level home. He was found by firefighters behind a window with security bars, unable to get out (It is not immediately known as to why he was unable to get out). Firefighters quickly cut the bars and pulled him outside the burning home to safety. We are pleased to say he was transported to a local hospital in good condition. There was excessive storage inside the home and it is not immediately known if there were functional smoke alarms. The cause of the fire is under active investigation by the LAFD Arson Section, NFD; FS 55; Batt 2; Central Bureau; Council District 14; Erik Scott
