One patient was trapped behind the steering wheel and required extrication. Two additional patients self-extricated prior to LAFD arrival. All three patients (35yo male, 40yo female, 40yo male) were transported in *at least* serious condition (based on mechanism of injury). Update Explosion 05/21/2025 INC#1122

Update Explosion; INC#1122; 04:54PM; 1344 W 4th St; https://bit.ly/4dCGJiz; Westlake; LA Dept of Building and Safety conducted an evaluation of the building and tagged three units: the unit involved in the explosion is red-tagged and not safe for habitation, two additional units were yellow-tagged (not unsafe for entry but may have specific areas that require caution or are off-limits) affecting a total of three occupants. The remainder of the building is cleared and will be repopulated this evening. A LA Building and Safety Inspector is onscene to evaluate the structure to determine if it is safe for occupants. Firefighters located and is transporting a male patient with significant injuries. Update Explosion; INC#1122; 02:35PM; 1344 W 4th St; https://bit.ly/4dCGJiz; Westlake; With the smoke dissipated, firefighters confirmed there is no fire in the unit nor the attic. Crews are evacuating the entire building (thus far only two people present). A wall from the 2nd floor unit into the hallway is damaged and there appears to be possible shifting of roof rafters over the unit. Despite initial reports of an injured person, firefighters have no been able to locate a patient. Update Hazardous Materials; INC#1105; 02:32PM; 535 N Alameda St; https://bit.ly/4j9kDVV; Downtown; LAFD Hazmat Assignment responded to an automated detection system in the mailroom inside a Federal Detention Center for an investigation. 2 employees were assessed for exposure and both were asymptomatic and released at the scene. Brush Fire - NOW OUT; INC#0745; 11:46AM; 4000 E Evadale Dr; https://bit.ly/3H0CVM0; Montecito Heights; NOW OUT: Initially reported as a grass fire (20' x 20'), the incident commander upgraded to a brush fire due to the isolated location, in dense vegetation, requiring additional equipment and firefighters. At 12:28, knockdown was declared and firefighters are conducting mop up operations to ensure no hot spots remaining. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire 05/11/2025 INC#0435

KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0435; 07:25AM; 6565 N Figueroa St; https://bit.ly/3ZfXQAH; #HighlandPark; Knockdown in 20 minutes with 48 firefighters working on scene. Crews on the roof and the interior worked in coordination to extinguish all flames and ensure there were no victims. Firefighters remain on scene of the incident for overhaul. DWP requested for wires down; no injuries reported; cause unknown at this time.
