Update Fire Investigation; INC#0814; 02:15PM; 632 S Alvarado St; https://bit.ly/48zArME; #Westlake; LAFD crews have been able to safely access, confine and fully extinguish a small fire involving rubbish and the 'third rail' system, which is normally energized with high voltage electricity to support train movement. This incident occurred in a remote section of subway tunnel between the 7th Street/Metro Center station and the Westlake/MacArthur Park station that serves both 'B' (Red) and 'D' (Purple) Line trains. All 'B' and 'D' line subway trains in the area have remained safely stopped at remote station locations away from the incident, and will continue so until LAFD operations are complete. There were no subway trains or patrons in peril. One worker who had been inside the building at the time of the fire is being medically evaluated at scene by LAFD Paramedics.
