Firefighters made entry and located fire inside the front wall of the home, between the first and second floors. Confined Space Rescue - Now Complete 09/06/2025 INC#0946

Confined Space Rescue - Now Complete; INC#0946; 02:49PM; 1172 S Boyle Av; https://bit.ly/41HBjOC; Boyle Heights; Based on the patient's location in an underground space, Incident Command upgraded this rescue to a confined space operation, necessitating the employment of LAFD HazMat specialists for air monitoring and an LAFD USAR component for the technical hoist rescue. LADWP ensured all power lines in the underground space were de-energized prior to rescue operations commencing, and LADOT closed streets to traffic in the immediate area. The patient (30M) was extricated without further injury and is being transported by LAFD paramedics to a local hospital. Firefighters knocked down the outside fire quickly, then forced entry into the commercial building to check for fire extension -- minor impingement noted in the eaves, with no extension to the interior of the building. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1556; 07:13PM; 400 S Hobart Bl; https://bit.ly/41GGvCm; Koreatown; 35 firefighters extinguished the fire in 36 minutes. In addition to fire suppression, firefighters quickly performed salvage operations to protect unit below the fire on the 3rd floor from water/smoke damage. LAFD will remain on scene to perform overhaul operations ensuring complete extinguishment, as well as smoke removal. No injuries reported. Undetermined cause of fire.
