First arriving companies extinguished the outside fire and made entry into the commercial building to find the fire had extended inside. The structure has a heavy fire load with stacks of rolled fabric. The Incident Commander requested additional resources which are reflected in this alert. The original 9-1-1 call was received at 4:43AM. No injuries reported. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1232; 10:18PM; 443 S Soto St; https://bit.ly/2EeP3Hq; Boyle Heights; 85 LAFD firefighters extinguished the blaze, that consumed a significant portion of a three-story vacant hospital, in 63 minutes. Firefighters conducted a rapid interior search in the early stages and found no patients inside. Crews withdrew and engaged in a defensive attack for the remainder of the fight. Firefighters conducted a secondary search after the fire was out, finding no patients. No reported injuries.
