Update Structure Fire; INC#0978; 04:23PM; 1521 W 8th St; https://bit.ly/3dSf4gK; Westlake; KNOCKDOWN: 105 firefighters worked across three separate buildings to extinguish varying amounts of fire in each structure. A full extinguishment achieved in 31 minutes. A more detailed summary of the extent of damage sustained to each building is compiled and an update will be provided. One male firefighter being transported with non-life threatening injury. PIO Captain Cody Weireter is on scene to assist the media. There is heavy fire in the attic of the center hall apartment building and may currently be limited to attic. There is also a small, commercial and a craftsman style residence exposed. Update Structure Fire; INC#0723; 02:00PM; 927 S Park View St; https://bit.ly/2MrQNTk; Westlake; KNOCKDOWN: 88 firefighters extinguished the fire in 51 minutes. The heavy fire extended up into the attic of the vacant structure. Firefighters defended the exposed buildings from damage. There are no injuries reported. Crews continue to conduct overhaul on all three levels to ensure no smoldering areas remain. Cause and $ loss TBD.
