KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1082; 04:19PM; 147 N Av 18; https://bit.ly/3uBMhDG; Lincoln Heights; Flames in the grass to the rear of a residential neighborhood spread to three of the homes. Firefighters divided the tasks and simultaneously attacked each of the structures and the grass fire and added crews to each as more arrived on scene. It took 113 firefighters 61 minutes to extinguish all fire. One firefighter sustained a non-life-threatening medical problem on scene, was evaluated by paramedics, and released on scene (no hospital transport necessary). No other injuries. Structure Fire; INC#1591; 08:40PM; 1207 S Harvard Bl; https://bit.ly/3orYYQo; Harvard Heights; LAFD firefighters on scene with LAPD for a structure fire response and were on standby while law enforcement handled a barricaded suspect reported to be attempting to set the house on fire. LAPD took the suspect into custody and LAFD transitioned into an offensive fire attack. The crews quickly achieved a knockdown of the fire at 9:45PM, preventing an interior contents fire from extending into the converted attic. LAFD Arson is responding for the investigation. Knockdown - #AlhambraFire - Major Emergency Structure Fire; INC#1255; 07:12PM; 4900 E Alhambra Av; https://bit.ly/3mbGvod; El Sereno; 146 LAFD personnel assisted by nearby LACoFD units in Automatic Aid, took less than two hours (1 hour 52 minutes) to fully extinguished flames within the 200' x 200' one-story commercial building. One LAFD Firefighter sustained a shoulder injury in the final minutes of the battle. He is now en route to an area hospital in fair condition, for what is considered a non-life threatening injury. All civilians within or near the building at the time of the fire have been accounted for, and no other injuries are reported. Firefighters will remain at scene tonight to overhaul the fire and assure no flare-ups. LAFD Investigators are on site in the midst of what remains an active fire cause investigation. One of more street lanes will remain closed in the area until LAFD operations are complete, unknown duration. Expect congestion and delay. Update - #AlhambraFire Major Emergency Structure Fire; INC#1255; 06:50PM; 4900 E Alhambra Av; https://bit.ly/3mbGvod; El Sereno; 90 minutes into the still defensive firefight, the relentless efforts of now 146 LAFD personnel joined by LACoFD, have been successful in holding the flames to a 200' x 200' one-story commercial building that in recent years had also served as a roller derby auditorium.
