Structure Fire; INC#1041; 02:42PM; 1365 S Broadway St; https://bit.ly/3GnKuq4; Downtown; KNOCKDOWN: Firefighters conducted forcible entry, cutting through a rolling steel door, to access the interior and located a contents only fire. 35 firefighters extinguished the fire in 12 minutes with no injuries reported. The fire was contained to contents and did not extend into the structure itself. The primary and secondary searches were clear with no occupants located. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0701; 11:17AM; 2229 W Venice Bl; https://bit.ly/3gtrxI1; Harvard Heights; KNOCKDOWN: 42 firefighters extinguished the fire in 17 minutes with no injuries reported. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire through the roof of the vacant commercial building and a single family dwelling to the rear was exposed. Crews immediately began forcible entry, cutting through steel bars and opening doors to gain access to the blaze within. Simultaneously, firefighters at the rear of the building defended the exposed building from damage, creating a wall of water between the flames and the structure. Once firefighters made access inside the fire structure, they used large diameter hand lines to quickly extinguish the fire. The primary search of the building located no occupants. Structure Fire - Fire Now Out; INC#0464; 09:25AM; 2451 W 7th St; https://bit.ly/3od42qJ; Westlake; Firefighters responded to a four story, modern center hall apartment building (senior living) and found smoke showing. After investigating both from the interior and the roof, firefighters located fire within a wall that appeared to have started in a bathroom and move up the pipe allow to the third floor. All floors were clear of smoke and residents were sheltered in place. Crews extinguished the fire (9:52AM) and opened up sections of the wall, as necessary, to ensure no further extension or continued smoldering. No injuries reported. It took 84 LAFD personnel (assisted by jurisdictionally adjacent LACoFD crews in automatic aid) just 38 minutes to strategically access, defensively confine and offensively extinguish heavy fire within what is now described as *two-story* *150' x 100'* warehouse containing baled goods and commercial water delivery products. There have been no injuries. This Greater Alarm fire appears to have begun as an outside fire, which had already extended into and involved the structure on LAFD arrival.
