There are now a total of two LAFD personnel transported to an area hospital in fair condition for separate non-life threating injuries sustained during the earlier firefight, including the earlier mentioned LAFD Fire Captain still being evaluated for a sudden medical illness, and an LAFD Firefighter with a knee injury. One LAFD Firefighter is being evaluated at scene for minor injuries. Fire cause under active investigation, with one adult male person of interest now being interviewed at scene by law enforcement. One or more lanes of Soto Street will remain closed between Olympic Boulevard and 8th Street until LAFD operations are complete, unknown duration. Heavy fire in the attic on LAFD arrival quickly extended throughout the vacant and boarded one-story 5,937 square-foot former bank building (built 1950 - unknown vacant date). No injuries.
