KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0121; 02:10AM; 444 S Boyle Av; https://bit.ly/401qgNb; #BoyleHeights; Firefighters battled for 54 minutes to extinguish the stubborn flames which were embedded throughout the vacant two-story house, including in the floors, walls, and attic. It took the relentless effort of 76 LAFD firefighters to completely snuff out the flames, using defensive, then transitional, and finally offensive tactics. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries. Fire investigators are en route to attempt to determine the fire's cause. Firefighters protected nearby structures on adjacent properties. One firefighter was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, after falling through the floor. Firefighters extricated one patient who was transported in critical condition. Update River Rescue; INC#0581; 11:00AM; 352 La River; https://bit.ly/3Z1j1n4; #BoyleHeights; A man was seen descending from the 6th Street Bridge down into the flowing water of the LA River. The man traveled over three-quarters of a mile southbound in the water, passed under the Santa Monica (10) Freeway and managed to escape the water flow before getting to the Olympic Bridge. The man had injuries (undetermined extent) and waited on the bank for LAFD personnel who evaluated, treated, and prepared him for transport.
